There are a lot of true crime fans, including myself. There are a lot of reasons why humanity is obsessed with serial killers and murders, be a it morbid curiosity or the desire to understand why they kill and what drives them.
We often see films and series based on killers such as Charlie Manson, Ted Bundy, and Jeffrey Dohmer, this time we will see the story of a lesser-known, but still deadly killer, Dennis Nilsen.
A new limited series is coming to ITV that delves into Scottish killer and necrophile Dennis Nilsen who viciously took the lives of twelve young men and boys between 1978 and 1983 in London. His victims were lured to his home, strangled, and sometimes drowned. Then he would bathe and dress the body which he kept for a time, before dissecting and destroying the remains by either fire or by flushing small segments at a time down a toilet.
In the three-part series titled “Des,””Dr. Who” actor David Tennant stars as the killer. He is a dead ringer for the Nilsen.

Tenant, Nilsen
“Line of Duty” star Daniel Mays will play Detective Peter Jay, who led the police investigation, while “The Crown” actor Jason Watkins will play Brian Masters, who acted as Nilsen’s biographer.
Lewis Arnold directs from the script written by Luke Neal, based on the book Killing for Company by Brian Masters
The limited series will premiere on ITV this Fall.
