Ghost Face is back in Scream 5 and the movie has a new 2022 release date. That’s the news revealed by the movie’s official Twitter account.

David Arquette and Courtney Cox are returning to reprise their roles with the franchise star Neve Campbell currently in talks to return as heroine Sidney Prescott.

While plot details are mostly still being kept under wraps, we do know that the sequel centers on “a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes.”

Scream 5 is co-written by Guy Busick (Ready or Not) as well as James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) who are producing for Project X Entertainment who is producing. Paul Neinstein and William Sherak are producing. The original Scream writer Kevin Williamson is executive producing along with Radio Silence’s Chad Villella.

Scream 5 is set to open in theaters on January 14, 2022!
