We’ve got new details about Constantin Film’s new Resident Evil adaptation including plot details and cast.

Writer-director Johannes Roberts’ new reboot will feature an official origin story that will have close ties to the first two classic horror games, Deadline reports.

Set in 1998 in Raccoon City, the film will feature characters straight out of the game played by an all-star cast including Maze Runner actress Kaya Scodelario (pictured) as Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell (Upload) as Chis Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, “The Umbrella Adademy’s” Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon, and Neal McDonough (“Yellowstone”) as William Birkin, Deadline reports.

The franchise’s Robert Kulzer returns as producer along with Hartley Gorenstein, and James Harris of Tea Shop Productions. Constantin’s CEO Martin Moszowicz and Davis Films’ VictorHadida will executive produce.

The previous six film of the movie franchise, which began in 2002, were both written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starred Milla Jovovich in the lead role of Alice, a woman who wakes up inside a secret facility known as “The Hive” where the staff of the facility, run by the Umbrella Corporation, have turned into flesh-eating monsters. It’s up to Alice, who is suffering from amnesia, and a military unit to shut down the computer (The Red Queen), stop the creatures, and to find away to survive.
