The brand new trailer and dark are here for filmmaker Neil Marshall‘s new witchy horror film The Reckoning. In them, we witness evil incarnate emerging from the dark water in a woman’s cell.

Set against the backdrop of the Great Plague in the 17th century, the film centers on Evelyn Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk), a young widow haunted by the recent suicide of her husband Joseph (Joe Anderson) as she is falsely accused of witchcraft by her jealous landlord, Squire Pendleton (Steven Waddington) after she rejects his advances.

Writer-director Neil Marshall is best known for his films and his work on series such as The Descent, Hellboy, “Game of Thrones” and “Hannibal.” Be sure to keep an eye out for updates on his other upcoming film The Lair.

The Reckoning casts its spell on theaters and debuts On Demand and on Digital on February 5, 2021, before heading to Shudder.
