Abrams (“Lovecraft Country”, Overlord) and his banner Bad Robot are currently working on bringing fans a new, darker series reboot of DC Comic’s Constantine for HBO Max with Guy Bolton (The Pictures) writing the script and leading the writer’s room that is set to begin working this March, Deadline reports.

There will be a few changes to the character that was played by Keanu Reeves in the 2005 film or Matt Ryan who starred in the 2014-2015 series based on the comic book character John Constantine, a British exorcist, and occult detective. This time the character will be much younger and is set to be cast as a diverse lead. At this time no cast has been announced.

Constantine is a popular character these days, a sequel to the movie has been confirmed by actor Peter Stormare who played the role of Lucifer in the original. John Constantine will also be featured in Netflix’s new series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s ” Sandman”.
