Last month we reported that Spike Lee is gearing up to unleash the ultimate Lovecraftian Elder God Cthulu in Netflix’s upcoming movie Gordon Hemingway & the Realm of Cthulu which Lee will be producing.
See You Yesterday‘s Stefon Bristol will be directing the film which is “set in East Africa in 1928 and centers on Gordon Hemingway, a roguish Black American gunslinger, who teams up with the elite warrior Princess Zenebe of Ethiopia to rescue the country’s kidnapped regent from an ancient evil.”
The last we saw Cthulu was in the Jordan Peel produced series “Lovecraft Country” starring Jonathan Majors. Now, Majors will face the god once again as the lead character in Gordon Hemingway & the Realm of Cthulu.
Hank Woon penned the original screenplay that was revamped by Fredrica Bailey. Lloyd Levin and Beatriz Levin will be producing alongside Lee.
