Game developer Outerminds has announced with a teaser trailer that they are currently working with RKSS Films in making their cult classic 2015 superhero comedy gorefest Turbo Kid into a game. The game’s plot will follow the film which takes place in a post-apocalyptic 1997 where the protagonist The Kid travels the wastelands as a superhero who teams up with others to stop the tyrannical warlord Zeus.

Turbo Kid will be a Metroidvania (cross between the “Metroid” and “Castlevania” game series) style game where players take control of The Kid and his BMX bike as they traverse different environments and face off against foes that The Kid can turn into pixilated goo with the same comedic over the top gore seen in the 2015 film.
Turbo Kid is set for a 2022 release, there’s no word at this time what platforms it will be released on.
