Listen up true crime fans, there’s a new docuseries that’s just premiered on HBO Max that you need to check out. Titled “Pray, Obey, Kill,” the limited series delves into the devastating consequences that come with the abuse of power by individuals and institutions.

In “Pray, Obey, Kill,” acclaimed journalists, Martin Johnson and Anton Berg, alongside director Henrik Georgsson, seek to shed new light on what really happened on the freezing cold night in January 2004 when gunshots rang out across the sleepy Swedish village of Knutby. A young woman was murdered, and her neighbor suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but why? After a quick confession, the world’s attention turned towards the tight-knit Pentecostal congregation with twisted beliefs and secrets. The ensuing court case became an international sensation.

Johnson and Berg investigate new angles of the case, accessing material that has never been revealed before and conducting exclusive interviews with former congregation members who are telling the truth about the sect for the first time.

The first two episodes of the five-part docuseries are now available on HBO, with each following episode premiering weekly.
