Ubisoft announced today the release date for their upcoming FPS Far Cry 6 along with more information about the characters and mechanics of the game and the potential craziness that awaits players in the fictitious nation of Yaran.

Yaran is a country in the Caribbean stuck in time as it’s under the strict control of its dictator Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito). Players take on the role of Dani Rojas, a Yaran military dropout who players can choose to be either a Man or a Woman.

Dani joins forces with the guerillas that are hell-bent on bringing Castillo’s reign to an end as his brutality goes out of control. Here players get to help out Clara Garcia, the leader of the guerilla forces known as Libertad, and Juan Cortez, a former KGB spy, and master of guerilla combat.

Players will be able to create their own weaponry using the “Resolver” spirit which will aid them in their fight against Castillo’s forces. Players can create crazy weapons like a minigun that runs on a motorcycle engine and to aid them in transverse the open world of Yaran, players can create their own vehicles if driving around in cars, tanks, or riding horses is not their style.

Far Cry 6 will be coming on October 7, 2021, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and Windows PC.

Fans who pre-order Far Cry 6 will get access to the “Libertad Pack” which includes the Libertad Outfit” for Chorizo and the state-of-the-art Discos Locos”, a weaponized disc launcher that will make enemies dance on their own graves. Fans who purchase Far Cry 6 on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade their version to next-gen at no additional cost on the Xbox Series X/ S and the PlayStation 5.
