Another day, another reboot…This time Hellraiser is the victim. Not only is the story being revamped, the franchise’s lead cinebite, Pinhead, will now be a young woman with Odessa A’Zion (Let’s Scare Julie) playing the role.
David Bruckner (The Ritual) is directing the reboot for Spyglass written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.
This isn’t the only Hellraiser project headed your way. A “Hellraiser” series is also currently on its way with the pilot being directed by Halloween‘s David Gordan Green. Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Gallactica, Daredevil, Heroes) and Michael Dougherty (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Trick R Treat) will pen the scripts.
The franchise, that includes a mindblowing 10 installments, began with the 1987 original written and directed by Clive Barker and starring Doug Bradley as Pinhead.
