It may still be hot as balls outside, but we’re already halfway to Christmas! We’ve got some indie holiday-themed movies from the past year that you should see. So turn up the air conditioner, snuggle up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and watch these movies. Happy Christmas in July!
Jim Klock‘s holiday horror film Slayed is arriving just in time for Christmas on Digital! Ahead of its debut, we’ve been gifted with not only the film’s official trailer to share with you, but we’ve also got a new, exclusive clip too!
Described as a cross between Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1979) and Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984), the film is set five years after a Christmas Eve massacre in Harris County, Arizona, when a crazed killer returns to a condemned water-treatment plant to terrorize and kill again. Only this time, the lone survivor from that tragic night is waiting to make this Santa-clad monster pay for what he did.

Paul Tanter’s The Nights Before Christmas features a murderous Santa and Mrs. Claus as they rampage their way through a series of gruesome killings. FBI Special Agent Natalie Parker is tasked with tracking the pair of psychotic serial killers and discovering what links their victims. With the body count rising, she discovers the couple met in and escaped from an asylum for the criminally insane. As Christmas day nears, the psychotic couple slaughters their way through their special naughty list, playing a cat and mouse game with the FBI and leaving a trail of gruesome bloody bodies in their wake.”

Creatures is the new movie by Tony Jopia, the director that brought you Cute Little Buggers and Crying Wolf, the executive producer of The Hive, and the creator of Good Tidings. In the movie, “a group of astronomy students gets more than they bargained for after finding an injured alien who is being targeted by a group of bloodthirsty alien creatures.”
The mega horror anthology 13 Slays Till X-Mas is set on December 24th, Christmas Eve, with five seemingly random men who are invited to a dive bar in a mysterious e-mail. They decide to pass the time by resurrecting the old tradition of telling scary stories on Christmas Eve. As each takes turns spinning yarns of yuletide terror it becomes evident, they may be harboring a dark and deadly secret.
