Overlord Star Pilou Asbæk Joins The New ‘Salem’s Lot’ Adaptation

The new take on Stephen King’s tale Salem’s Lot continues to add to its cast. The latest addition to the vampire film from writer-director Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun), is the Overlord and “Game of Thrones” actor Pilou Asbæk who will play the pivotal role of Richard Straker, the vampire’s familiar.
 
In Salem’s Lotauthor Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.
 
The cast for Salem’s Lot, produced by James Wan, also includes Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark, Alfred Woodward, and William Sadler.
 
This isn’t the first adaptation of the story. In 1979, Tobe Hooper directed Salem’s Lot which was followed by A Return to Salem’s Lot in 1987 by Lary Cohen. The is also the mini-series that aired in 2004 that starred Rob Lowe.
 
Roy Lee and Mark Wolper will also produce alongside James Wan, with Dauberman exec producing.
 
Salem’s Lot will sink its teeth into theaters on September 9, 2022.
