‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Conjures A Release Date!

The long-awaited sequel to the beloved Halloween movie Hocus Pocus now officially has a release date! Producer Adam Shankman revealed in an Instagram post that the sequel to the 1993 Disney classic has wrapped and will premiere on Disney+ this Halloween!

 

 

 

In the original, a curious teen name Max (Omari Katz) struggles to fit in after moving to Salem. On Halloween night he lights the black flame candled unleashing the Sanderson sisters, three witches who want to siphon the youth from children to regain their beauty.

 

“In Hocus Pocus 2, three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.”

 

Anne Fletcher (Dumplin’, The Proposal) is directing. Jen D’Angelo penned the script for Hocus Pocus 2.

 

The original Sanderson sisters, Bette Midler (Winifred), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah), and Kathy Njimy (Mary) are all returning. They will be joined by The Tomorrow War actor Sam Richardson, Tony Hale, “Teen Wolf’s” Froy Gutierrez, and Hannah Waddingham.

 

Ralph Winter (Hocus Pocus, X-Men franchise) and David Kirschner (Hocus Pocus, “Chucky”) are executive producing along with Adam Shankman (Hairspray, What Men Want). Lynn Harris (King Richard, The Shallows) is producing.
