While many are watching the Super Bowl tonight for the football, many tune in just for the commercials and trailers. One trailer released tonight is for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And there’s no doubting that there is a serious horror vibe in the trailer.
This time, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) teams up with Wanda/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) to face off against everything from monsters to an evil version of Doctor Strange himself.
It’s a very scary movie,” Olsen stated during a recent interview with Games Radar, “It’s like old Sam Raimi. They’re trying to create the scariest Marvel movie.”
The movie marks Sam Raimi‘s return to the genre after nearly 10 years, with the last film horror film he directed being the fantastic supernatural film Drag Me to Hell.
Xochitl Gomez, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams also star in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which lands in theaters on May 6, 2022.
