From the director of The Grudge franchise, Takashi Shimizu, comes a new tale of terror, the supernatural horror Suicide Forest Village. The new trailer is here and features some seriously spooky action.

Inspired by the dreaded Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji and known for its frequent suicides and hauntings, the film is anchored by an exceptional cast including Jun Kunimura (Kill Bill: Vol. 1), Yumi Adachi (Tokyo Vampire Hotel), and Asuka Kurosawa (Silence).

In the film, “a group of unsuspecting friends stumbles upon a mysterious box and a curse begins to spread. To break the curse, the group must venture to the source of the box deep within the Jukai Forest. It’s said that the land holds a grudge against trespassers where once you enter, you have no hope of escaping with your life.”

Shimizu co-wrote the script. Muneyuki Kii, Harue Miyake, Chikako Nakabayashi and Daisuke Takahashi produce.

Suicide Forest Village is set to land on Digital and On-Demand on March 1, 2022, from Cinedigm, followed by its arrival on Screambox on May 6th.
