Back in February, we reported that a “Supernatural” prequel series was on its way from CW. Today, news has come that the series has found its stars.
Meg Donnelly (American Housewife) has been cast as a young Mary Winchester with Drake Rodger (The In between) playing Sam and Dean’s father John. The two join Jensen Ackles who has long played Dean, who will serve as the series’ narrator.
The series will explore Mary and John’s epic love story and how they fought not only to protect themselves and their family but from the world as well from monsters and demons. Mary is being described as a 19-year-old who has “been fighting the forces of darkness for most of her life. After losing someone close to her, she considers quitting the family business – until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John Winchester forces her to lead a new team.”
“Supernatural’s” Robbie Thompson will write and executive produce with Ackles and his wife Danneel Ackles executive producing the pilot under their banner Chaos Machine Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.
