Season three of Netflix’s hit fantasy/horror game to TV adaptation “The Witcher” is approaching and Netflix has just released the first look at the season. In one image we see Gerald locked in an embrace. The other image is a behind-the-scenes photo of the stars sitting in the snow.

Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan are all returning to reprise their roles as Gerald, Yennefer, and Princess Cirilla respectively.

In season three, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.”

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has stated that there is a seven-season plan for the series. Henry Cavill has already said that he would “absolutely” want to reprise his role as Gerald for the entire seven-season run. The question is, will Netflix bless fans with that many seasons?

So, when will the series return? Several sources are saying it will be this December. We’ll keep you posted.
