Apple TV‘s new miniseries “The Essex Serpent,” directed and executive produced by Clio Barnard and starring Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) and Claire Danes (“Homeland”), is set to premiere this May.
“The Essex Serpent” follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Claire Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Tom Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.
Based on the novel by Sarah Perry, this series also stars Frank Dillane, Clémence Poésy, and Hayley Squires, and was written by Anna Symon. Executive producers include Anna Symon, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, and Patrick Walters.
