Netflix has just released the first look at their new “Resident Evil” series with a teaser trailer. While it doesn’t give much of the series’ plot, we do get a glimpse at a world over-run by a virus developed by the sinister Umbrella Corporation. We see Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick) experimenting on a rat with blood drawn from his daughters Billie and Jade. The trailer also teases that there will be a time jump and characters fighting to survive in the post-apocalyptic world filled with grotesque creatures.

The series, whose first season will include eight one-hour episodes, will mainly center on Jade Wesker in the year 2036, and her living in London. Beyond simply living in a world overrun by the undead, Jade will need to confront her past in New Raccoon City while coming to terms with the tragic death of her sister and the shadow of her evil father.

The cast also includes Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph and Paola Nuñez. It’s currently unknown if franchise characters  Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, or Leon S. Kennedy will return.

“The all-new series expansion brings the best of the Resident Evil DNA forward – bad-ass heroines, insane creatures (some new/some familiar), a battle for survival, and of course, a deep mystery to unravel,” reads the official description of the show. ” Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) states.

Tune in for the premiere of “Resident Evil” on Netflix on July 14, 2022.
