Alex Essoe Joins The Cast Of The True Story Inspired Film ‘The Pope’s Exorcist,’

Julius Avery, the director behind 2018’s excellent horror Overlord, is back with The Pope’s Exorcist, based on real-life exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth, who performed over 100,000 exorcisms for the Vatican.

 

Russell Crowe will star as Father Gabriele Amorth, with  Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep) and Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) now having joined the cast Deadline reports.

 

The most recent draft of the script was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos with revisions by Chuck MacLean, based on the original script by Chester Hastings and R. Dean McCreary.
