Blumhouse, the multimedia company known for its horror films is launching a new subsidiary to produce and publish video games, introducing Blumhouse Games.

Blumhouse is known for producing films on low budgets and allowing creative control and freedom for the films they’re making, this mindset will also be part of the company model for Blumhouse Games which will partner with independent game developers, whose game budgets are under $10M, to bring their original horror games to the masses.

Through my time in the industry, I’ve had the good fortune of working closely with developers to bring their ideas to life. There’s a unique opportunity for horror and genre in the indie game space, and I’m thrilled about teaming up with Blumhouse to meaningfully leverage the company’s brand, reputation, and creative talent,” – Zach Wood, President Blumhouse Games

Blumhouse Games has named Zach Wood, a veteran of the gaming industry, to be President with former PlayStation finance, operations, and strategy head Don Sechler as CFO. Currently, there’s no word yet on any upcoming titles or plans to make some of Blumhouse’s horror titles into games.
