A remake of the 2022 Danish horror Speak No Evil (review) is on its way, with James McAvoy (Split, Glass) leading the cast.
In the unnerving original, “A Danish family visits a Dutch family they met on holiday. What was supposed to be an idyllic weekend slowly starts unraveling as the Danes try to stay polite in the face of unpleasantness.”
James Watkins (The Woman in Black, Eden Lake) will be in the director’s chair for the remake from Blumhouse and Universal.
Jason Blum will produce for Blumhouse, along with Paul Ritchie, Christian Tafdrup, Jacob Jarek, and Bea Sequeira, serving as Executive Producers.
Deadline is reporting that Universal will release the remake of Speak No Evil in theaters on August 9, 2024. Here’s a look back at the original trailer. You can watch the original Speak No Evil now on Shudder and AMC+.
