It’s been twenty years since Deep Blue Sea premiered. Director Renny Harlin (Exorcist: The Beginning) is diving back into the shark-infested sea with Deep Water.
Deep Water tells the story of a group of passengers whose plane, en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai, is forced to make an emergency landing in shark-infested waters. The terrified group is forced to work together to escape their sinking plane and the wreckage that has attracted sharks and sent them into a feeding frenzy.
Deep Water marks the first film from the new production company Simmons/Hamilton Productions from Gene Simmons (KISS) and Gary Hamilton. The new banner is aiming to produce twenty-five action, thriller, and horror movies over the next five years, Variety reports. Simmons, Hamilton, Arclight Films’ Ying Ye, and Rob Van Norden are also producing.
