This weekend, Blumhouse doubles down on horror with two titles being released that you don’t miss, the first season of the Prime Video series “The Horror of Dolores Roach” and Insidious 5: The Red Door, which you can watch now in theaters.

The killer new series “The Horror of Dolores Roach,” from creator and showrunner Aaron Mark (interview), stars Justina Machado as Dolores, who is released after an unjust 16-year prison sentence, and she returns to a gentrified Washington Heights. Dolores reunites with an old stoner friend, Luis (Alejandro Hernandez), who lets her live and work as a masseuse in the basement under his empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is driven to shocking extremes to survive.

Blumhouse’s Insidious 5: The Red Door takes us back into “The Further” ten years after the events of the second film. “Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) heads east to drop his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.”

In a new video, Blumhouse’s Master of Horror, Jason Blum, discusses both the series and the movie with cast members and more as they get massages, a nod to the new series.
