One of the biggest horror films of the year, Insidious 5: The Red Door, is still currently playing in theaters, but if you don’t feel like getting dressed and going out in the heat, we have great news, just three weeks after the horror film made its premiere in theaters, it’s now available on Video On Demand and Digital!
But there’s more! The official Fandango Twitter account has shared an extended 10-minute preview of the film, showcasing the horrors that await you. In the preview, we see Dalton Lambert, now grown up and in his college art class, not knowing he is recreating the titular Red Door and foreshadowing the horrors the family will soon face.
Patrick Wilson, who starred in the first two films, is returning to the franchise, not just to star as Josh Lambert, but will also make his directorial debut with the fifth installment. He will star alongside returning cast members Ty Simpkins, who will reprise his role as Dalton Lambert, Josh’s son, and Rose Byrne, who played Josh’s wife, Renai Lambert.
The new movie is set ten years after the events of the second film. “Josh Lambert (Wilson) heads east to drop his son Dalton (Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.”
Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) penned the script based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man).
The first two Insidious movies were directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannell. They centered on the Lambert family and the terrifying things in “The Further.”
Witness the final film of the franchise, Insidious: The Red Door, now in theaters or on VUDU or on AppleTV or iTunes.
