Hold your breath and buckle up, genre fans! Prime Video is kicking it into high gear this month with the global release of the movie Trunk, a heart-pounding, single-location thrill ride filled with terror from German filmmaker Marc Schießer.

Schießer, making his feature directorial debut, plunges us into the terrifying reality of Malina, a young medical student who awakens to find herself inexplicably trapped in a locked car trunk. Disoriented and missing more than just memories, she finds herself in a desperate fight for survival as the vehicle is driven by a mysterious driver on the path to an unknown and sinister destination.

Award-winning German actress Sina Martens (The Perfumier, Tatort) delivers a gripping performance as Malina, who faces claustrophobia, fear, and a race against time. She uncovers unsettling clues with each mile, piecing together a puzzle of how she ended up in her metal prison, leading to a horrifying truth.

Schießer’s skillful direction utilizes the confined space of the car trunk to create an intense and intimate viewing experience. The audience becomes Malina’s confidante, sharing her every agonizing moment and fight as she struggles to stay alive and escape before it’s too late.

Following its premiere at Cologne’s film festival, Trunk garnered the “Best Thriller Feature” award at Nightmares Film Festival.

Get ready for a white-knuckle ride as Trunk debuts on Prime Video on January 26th, available in over 240 countries and territories.
