Vertigo Releasing unveils the latest trailer for American Star, the star-studded suspenseful thriller arriving in cinemas and digital platforms this February that tells a gripping story filled with action and intrigue.

Star Power and Intrigue:

Directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego (Apollo 18, The Hollow Point), the film boasts an all-star cast. Ian McShane (Deadwood, John Wick, “American Gods”) stars as an assassin on his final assignment. He arrives in Fuerteventura to kill a man he has never met. But the target is delayed. Instead of following protocol, he stays, drawn to the island, the people, and a ghostly shipwreck. When the target returns, the world has shifted. Before everything was simple, now nothing is…

Fanny Ardant (The Woman Next Door, Elizabeth) also stars alongside McShane, Nora Arnezeder (Faubourg 36), and Thomas Kretschmann (Resident Evil, King Kong), who round out the compelling ensemble.

American Star is produced by Michael Elliott, known for acclaimed films like Catch Me Daddy and the BAFTA-nominated film Jawbone.

When Darkness Descends on Paradise:

Written by award-winner Nacho Faerna, the story unfolds on the sun-drenched shores of Fuerteventura. An aging assassin arrives to eliminate an unknown target, but fate intervenes. Drawn to the island’s enigmatic beauty and haunting shipwreck, his world shifts as the mission takes an unexpected turn. The target resurfaces, but nothing is as it seems. Lines blur, loyalties waver, and the once-simple task becomes a complex web of secrets and danger.
