In late February, Master of Horror Stephen King spoke up in defense of the new Salem’s Lot movie and that it should be released. After all, it has been finished and trapped in limbo since 2022. He even had great things to say about it. Well, it appears that King has gotten his wish. The movie now has a release window.
The Cast and Crew
Gary Dauberman, known for horror hits like Annabelle, IT, and The Nun, directs the film. Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) stars in the lead role of Ben. Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, and Pilou Asbaek co-star.
A King Classic
In King’s 1975 novel, Ben returns to the town of Jerusalem’s Lot to write his next book. Ben soon discovers that the house that terrified him as a child is filled with vampires. This isn’t its first adaptation of King’s tale. It had a film adaptation back in 1979 that became a classic.
The Release
A question has been lingering about whether the new Salem’s Lot will open in theaters or go straight to streaming. That question has now been answered. New Line has just officially announced that Salem’s Lot will debut on Max in 2024. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can now watch the first adaptation on Apple TV, Prime Video, and VUDU.
