Earlier this year, we reported that actor Michael B. Jordan would be reuniting with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler for an untitled vampire movie. Today, we have a major update.
Jordan Sinks His Teeth Into The Lead Role
While most of the details are still being kept quiet, we know that Michael B. Jordan will sink his teeth into the lead role of the vampire. With his fantastic performances in Black Panther and the Creed franchise, I believe fans can expect a great movie.
What We Know
Not much is known about the mysterious movie at this point. However, we do know that filming is set to kick off in April in New Orleans. This means that the cast has been chosen, but their names remain secret, like much of the movie.
The movie is reportedly set in the South in the 1930s. This was a time during the Jim Crow era. The nation was in the Great Depression, and racism was rampant as people fought for their rights. The state was still recovering from the devastating flood of 1927. It was a tragic event that saw 10,000 square miles of Louisiana affected or underwater, leaving behind destruction and death on a massive scale.
Behind the Camera
Coogler will produce the movie for Proximity Media alongside Zini Coogler and Sev Ohanian. Ludwig Göransson, who just won an Academy Award for Best Score for Oppenheimer, will executive produce along with Will Greenfield and Rebecca Cho.
The Big News
While the small details that have been revealed are exciting, the biggest news is that Warner Bros., who won after an intense bidding war with multiple studios, has already set a premiere date for March 7, 2025. Look for more updates that you can sink your fangs into soon.
