Director Jaume Collet-Serra, known for horror films like House of Wax, Orphan, and The Shallows, is teaming up with Universal and Blumhouse for The Woman in the Yard. This week, the cast for this chilling mystery has expanded.

Behind the Scenes

According to Deadline, talented actor Russell Hornsby, who impressed audiences in Fences and his long-running role on the hit series “Grimm,” has joined the project. He’ll share the screen with previously announced star Danielle Deadwyler (The Harder They Fall). Okwui Okpokwasili, who recently starred in The Exorcist: Believer, has also joined the cast.

Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain are the producers. The executive producers are Jaume Collet-Serra, Danielle Deadwyler, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Moran. Haley Pigman and Jungyoon Kim oversee the project for Blumhouse.

Secrecy Continues

While the plot of The Woman in the Yard remains shrouded in secrecy, the combination of a skilled director and a growing cast with proven acting chops is sure to pique the interest of thriller enthusiasts. Sam Stefanak penned the screenplay, and the film is slated to hit theaters on January 10, 2025.
