Ella Purnell, fresh off her role in the mega-hit series “Fallout,” is gearing up for a new fight. She’s playing the lead in The Scurry, a horror-comedy about killer squirrels!
Purnell portrays a park attendant in the film by director Craig Roberts. Trading in the wasteland for woodland, she’ll have to survive a furry onslaught. This marks a shift for Purnell, who battles ghouls and creatures in “Fallout.”
Purnell joins a cast already brimming with talent. Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter, House of the Dragon), Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project), and Antonia Thomas (Misfits) are all on board for this quirky adventure. Due to scheduling conflicts, Olivia Cooke and Mia McKenna-Bruce, previously attached to the project, had to step aside.
Producers are thrilled to have Purnell leading the charge. Executive producer James Scott stated, “[Fallout] is the biggest show on the planet right now, so to have the lead actress join our squirrel movie is incredibly exciting…”
Before captivating audiences in “Fallout,” Purnell garnered acclaim for her role in “Yellowjackets,” which is gearing up for its new season. She also delivered a memorable performance in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and starred in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead.
The Scurry promises a unique blend of horror and humor. With Ella Purnell‘s star power and a talented supporting cast, this film will be a delightfully nutty addition to the genre. Keep an eye out for further developments as filming progresses in the UK.
Fans of “Fallout” will be happy to know that the killer show has been renewed for a second season. If you haven’t seen this fantastic series, head over to Prime Video and watch it now!
