During today’s IGN Live event, Casper Van Dien was on stage to announce he is reprising his role as Johnny Rico in Offworld’s FPS Starship Troopers: Extermination. Along with the news came details about some major changes to the 16-player game. Would you like to know more?
Casper Van Dien will be voicing Rico for the all-new single-player mode that will launch alongside the game’s release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The new game mode focuses entirely on a single-player experience, offering 25 distinct missions and a variety of PvE combat scenarios across multiple environments, with a second chapter to follow post-launch. Tapped for an elite spec ops group within the Mobile Infantry, players find themselves following the orders of living legend General John “Johnny” Rico, proving their mettle against hordes of enemy Arachnids with the aid of three original NPC allies to prove themselves worthy of recruitment.
For current PC players, they can expect an update to the game coming later this month. The Early Access edition of Starship Troopers: Extermination, as of Update 0.7.0, is currently available for $29.99, a lower price point than when it launches into 1.0 and puts players on the far-off front lines in an all-out war with the Arachnid menace.
Starship Troopers: Extermination is available now on PC but will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 11th.
