AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe Expands with “The Talamasca”
AMC’s gamble on the Anne Rice Immortal Universe continues to pay off! Following the success of “Interview with the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches,” the network has greenlit a third series: “Anne Rice’s The Talamasca.”
“The Talamasca” introduces viewers to a clandestine organization. One tasked with a unique mission: tracking and containing the supernatural world’s inhabitants—witches, vampires, werewolves, and more. This secretive society has already piqued viewers’ curiosity with appearances in “Interview with the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches.” Tongayi Chirisa, who appeared in “Mayfair Witches,” will reprise his role as Ciprien.
The series is slated for a 2025 premiere on AMC, adding another chapter to the interconnected world of Anne Rice’s beloved novels. John Lee Hancock (director of “The Blind Side”) and Mark Lafferty (“Halt and Catch Fire”) will serve as showrunners and executive producers, with Hancock also directing.
“The Talamasca” represents a story the network has envisioned from the outset of the franchise. “We’ve been eager to explore this captivating secret society,” shared Dan McDermott, president of entertainment for AMC. “The caliber of talent is truly exciting,” he continued, referencing Hancock and Lafferty’s involvement alongside established producer Mark Johnson.
John Lee Hancock‘s enthusiasm for the project is palpable. “The Talamasca immediately intrigued me,” he remarks, drawing parallels to real-world intelligence agencies. He expresses his gratitude to the entire team, from AMC to the writers, for their unwavering support.
With “Interview with the Vampire” in its second season and “Mayfair Witches” gearing up for its second installment, AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe continues to capture the imagination of fans. “The Talamasca” promises to be a thrilling addition to this supernatural saga.
