Apple TV+ is set to premiere its new limited series, “Lady in the Lake,” this July. Alma Har’el created and directed the series, which boasts a star-studded cast led by Academy Award winner Natalie Portman and Emmy nominee Moses Ingram.
The disappearance of a young girl in Baltimore on Thanksgiving 1966 throws the city into turmoil. This event becomes the catalyst for the collision of two very different women’s lives. Maddie (Portman), a housewife yearning for a new identity as an investigative journalist, and Cleo (Ingram), a mother battling the harsh realities of Baltimore’s underbelly, find their paths intertwined. Soon, dark truths begin to surface.
“Lady in the Lake” promises to be more than just a gripping crime thriller. Director Alma Har’el crafts a story that explores the complexities of women’s ambitions and their sacrifices to achieve them.
