The chilling first look at the Nosferatu trailer showcases Bill Skarsgård‘s (who also stars in the upcoming The Crow reboot) transformation into the legendary vampire Count Orlok. Now, following the trailer’s theatrical debut, it’s finally here.

This film isn’t just a remake—it’s a reimagining. Drawing inspiration from the 1922 silent masterpiece, Robert Eggers breathes new life into the classic tale. Echoing the core narrative of a Transylvanian vampire spreading terror in a foreign land, the trailer promises a fresh take on the iconic story.

The unveiled trailer offers a glimpse into the chilling arrival of the enigmatic vampire. We witness the ancient German town of Wisborg plunge into a nightmarish spiral as Nosferatu’s presence descends. Lily-Rose Depp‘s character wrestles with anguish, seeking answers from Willem Dafoe‘s Professor Von Franz. Meanwhile, bloodcurdling imagery and a city gripped by fear paint a vivid picture of the horror to come.

Depp portrays Ellen Hutter, the object of Nosferatu’s chilling desires. Nicholas Hoult plays her betrothed, Thomas, who is destined to be the first to encounter the ominous figure. Ralph Ineson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Emma Corrin round out the impressive cast.

In a recent interview, Director Eggers expressed his concern that Skarsgård’s profound transformation might overshadow his acting brilliance. Eggers envisions a portrayal that pays homage to the legendary performances of Max Schreck and Klaus Kinski while carving its unique path in cinema history.

Nosferatu marks the continuation of the successful partnership between Focus Features and Eggers. This duo previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed The Northman (2022), starring Skarsgård’s brother Alexander. The project also reunites Eggers with celebrated producer Chris Columbus.

Prepare for a chillingly gothic holiday season as Nosferatu descends upon theaters on December 25, 2024. Don’t miss this highly anticipated reimagining of a cinematic classic.
