The upcoming film Nightbitch, whose first images have arrived via Vanity Fair, sees Amy Adams‘ character surrounded by dogs, transforming into something new.

This darkly comedic horror film explores the challenges of motherhood with a surreal twist. It centers on a stay-at-home mom, simply known as “Mother,” grappling with the monotony of suburban life. Adams’ character slowly begins to exhibit canine-like behaviors. This bizarre transformation is humorous and unsettling, offering a fresh perspective on the complexities of motherhood.

Marielle Heller, also behind A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, directed Nightbitch, which Heller and Rachel Yoder co-wrote. The film is based on Rachel Yoder’s 2021 book. It promises to be a thought-provoking, hair-raising experience that will have you howling at the moon.

As for the cast, Argo actor Scoot McNairy joins Adams. Mary Holland (Happiest Season), Kerry O’Malley (“Snowpiercer”), Ella Thomas, and Roslyn Gentle round out the film’s cast.

Amy Adams has a talent for playing a wide range of characters, from dark and twisted to silly and funny. She has starred in films such as Nocturnal Animals, Justice League, The Woman in the Window  (available on Netflix), the sci-fi thriller Arrival, and the family-friendly movie Disenchanted.

Nightbitch is set to be unleashed on December 6, 2024, in theaters nationwide.
