Get ready for a terrifying cinematic experience. The highly anticipated film adaptation of Stephen King’s chilling short story, The Monkey, has wrapped production. Today, the first teaser trailer arrived. It gives us our first glimpse of Theo James, drenched in blood, as a creepy tune plays.
The film, directed by Osgood Perkins ( Longlegs), is inspired by King’s original short story, which was featured in the 1985 collection Skeleton Crew.
Emmy-nominated actor Theo James stars in a dual role as twin brothers Hal and Bill. When they unearth a seemingly harmless childhood toy—their father’s old monkey—a wave of brutal deaths begins to plague them. Determined to break the curse, the brothers must confront the monkey’s sinister power before it claims everything they hold dear.
Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Elijah Wood (“Lord of the Rings”) join James. The strong supporting cast that includes Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy.
Horror maestro James Wan (The Conjuring, M3GAN, and its spin-off SOULM8TE) serves as producer alongside Michael Clear.
The Monkey promises to be a must-see for horror fans when it premieres in theaters on February 21, 2025, from NEON.
