Yesterday, we reported that Evil Dead Rise star Lily Sullivan has signed on to star in the upcoming horror movie SOULM8TE. Today, we have learned that David Rysdahl has been cast opposite Sullivan in the film set in the M3GAN universe. Rysdahl will portray a man grappling with losing his wife and turning to artificial intelligence for solace.
The story follows a grieving widower seeking solace after his wife with an AI android companion. However, his attempt to create a perfect partner takes a nightmarish turn as the bot transforms and becomes deadly.
The film, directed by Kate Dolan, blends the suspenseful atmosphere of classic 90s thrillers with a modern technological twist. Rysahl’s character’s dive into artificial companionship promises a chilling exploration of grief, isolation, and the blurred lines between humans and machines.
Known for his roles in “Fargo,” Oppenheimer, and “Black Mirror,” David Rysahl brings a compelling presence to the project. His portrayal of a man seeking connection in an increasingly isolating world should resonate with audiences.
SOULM8TE is produced by horror maestros James Wan and Jason Blum under their respective banners, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. It will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025. The M3GAN universe is expanding, so if you haven’t already seen it or want to rewatch it, you will be happy to learn that you can find it now on Peacock and Apple TV.
