Paramount+ has unveiled the trailer for “Dexter: Original Sin,” the prequel to the hit show. The series explores Dexter’s earlier years as he evolves into a killer.
“They say it takes a village to raise a killer,” says Michael C Hall in the teaser trailer. Hall will return to the prequel as the inner voice of the young serial killer, having played Dexter for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013.
The series, set 15 years before “Dexter,” explores Dexter’s formative years in Miami, growing up in the early 1990s. During this time, he grapples with his dark urges while confiding in his father figure, Harry (Christan Slater). Harry, a homicide detective, instills Dexter’s infamous “Code” – a set of rules guiding him to target and eliminate those who escape the justice system.
Molly Brown stars as Debra Morgan, Dexter’s beloved sister. Sarah Michelle Gellar will play CSI Chief Tanya Martin. Patrick Dempsey (Thanksgiving) stars as Aaron Spencer, Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide.
The cast includes Joe Pantoliano (“Chucky”), Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive), Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline), Aaron Jennings, Raquel Justice, Jasper Lewis, and Carlo Mendez. Isaac Gonzalez Rossi and Roberto Sanchez round out the cast, which also includes James Martinez, who plays Angel Batista.
Dexter: Original Sin debuts on Friday, December 13, on Paramount+,
