Brilliant horror director André Øvredal, known for films like The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and The Last Voyage of the Demeter, is back with a new project. Øvredal has now signed on to direct a currently untitled horror film for Walter Hamada’s 18hz Productions.
According to Deadline, Zachary Donohue and T.W. Burgess penned the script for the new project, whose plot is currently being kept under wraps. Gary Dauberman (Salem’s Lot) will produce the mysterious horror movie.
18hz Productions is set to produce several mid-budget horror films per year for Paramount Pictures. Other projects in the works include Primate and Familiar.
Hamada, who recently departed WB/DC, brings a wealth of horror experience from his time at New Line. He reunites with Gary Dauberman (Salem’s Lot) to produce the project. The two have produced countless horror movies together, including The Conjuring and its spinoffs and the 2017 adaptation of IT.
