Prepare for a terrifying cinematic experience born from the twisted mind of a horror legend, Stephen King. A team of horror icons is gearing up to deliver the highly anticipated film adaptation of King’s The Monkey. Recently, we shared the first teaser trailer that gave us a glimpse of a blood-drenched Theo James. The film’s first poster has been unveiled today, reminding you that “Everybody dies. And that’s fucked up.”
The film, directed by award-winning filmmaker Osgood Perkins ( Longlegs), is inspired by King’s original short story, which was featured in the 1985 collection Skeleton Crew.
Emmy-nominated actor Theo James stars in a dual role as twin brothers Hal and Bill. When they unearth a seemingly harmless childhood toy, a wave of brutal deaths begins to plague them. Determined to break the curse, the brothers must confront the monkey’s sinister power before it claims everything they hold dear.
Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) and Elijah Wood (“Lord of the Rings”) join James. The strong supporting cast includes Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy.
Horror maestro James Wan (The Conjuring, M3GAN, and its upcoming spin-off SOULM8TE) is producing the film alongside Michael Clear.
Don’t monkey around and miss The Monkey, a must-see adaptation for horror and King fans. It premieres in theaters on February 21, 2025, from NEON.
