Kings of Horror welcomes you to Fright Night…for real. The YouTube channel will broadcast a free dramatized livestream reading of Fright Night: The Stage Play Adaptation. It was written by James Michael Shoberg and is based on the classic film written and directed by Tom Holland.
Holland’s 1985 classic follows teen Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale), who suspects the newcomer in his neighborhood is a vampire (Chris Sarandon). After his girlfriend (Amanda Bearse) becomes a target, he turns to a horror TV show host (Roddy McDowall) for help. If you like the original, I recommend you check out Your So Cool Charlie Brewster, the Fright Night documentary.
The coming adaptation, produced by Denny Kidd and directed by Kenny Scott Guffey, stars Tyler Jackson (Empire) as Charley Brewster.
It also stars Danny Hitt (American Vampire) as Jerry Dandrige, Rollin Jewett (The Bodyguard) as Peter Vincent, and Natasha Vogt as Amy Petersen. Also onboard is Luke Frederick as “Evil” Ed Thompson, with a special appearance by Ryan Ott, who will be reprising the role of Billy that he originated onstage in the 2018 world premiere—produced by The Rage of the Stage Players—in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Kings of Horror Presents Tom Holland’s Fright Night. See it LIVE Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at 7:00 PM (EST).
