Over the past year, Neon has been on a roll, releasing films like Cuckoo and Longlegs, to name a few. Today, the studio has gifted horror fans with great news: it has acquired writer-director Chloe Okuno‘s new horror film, Brides. Moreover, the film will star Longlegs actress Maika Monroe, who also starred in Okuno’s film Watcher.
Brides, set in the 1960s, will follow Monroe’s Sally, a married woman who moves with her spouse across the world into an Italian Villa. Tucked away from the rest of the world, the couple start their new lives, something Sally desperately needs after a recent nervous breakdown. It doesn’t take long before the two realize their dream come true is, in reality, a nightmare after they discover a vampire looking for his next bride. Taken by Sally, the vampire aims to add her to his harem of undead wives.
The release date has not been announced yet, but we do know that production will begin in March. Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu will produce Brides.
