Acclaimed director Robert Eggers announced his new film, Werwulf, a few days ago following the success of Nosferatu. Now, news has come that he is also set to helm a sequel to the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth.
The Wrap reports that Eggers will co-write the screenplay with Sjón, his collaborator on The Northman, and his upcoming 13th-century set Werewolf film. While plot details remain under wraps for the sequel, it is expected to continue the enchanting world created by Jim Henso
The original Labyrinth starred David Bowie as the Goblin King. It has achieved cult classic status thanks to its captivating story, iconic performances, and groundbreaking puppetry. The film follows a teenage girl navigating a magical labyrinth to rescue her baby brother from the Goblin King.
TriStar Pictures will release the sequel. Eggers is currently in production on Werwulf, which Focus Features will release on Christmas Day 2026. As for
