Post Malone is expanding his creative horizons, teaming up with Vault Comics for “Big Rig,” a horror graphic novel described as a thrilling blend of “Evil Dead and Mad Max: Fury Road.” Adding to the excitement, Platinum Dunes, led by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, is already developing a feature film adaptation.
Based on Post Malone’s original idea, “Big Rig” is co-written by the Grammy-nominated singer and Vault editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel. It features illustrations by Vault co-founder Nathan Gooden (“Barbaric”).
The story unfolds during the Dark Ages, as demon hordes descend upon Europe. The Six Petals, a clandestine sect of the Knights Templar, desperately seek a weapon to repel the demonic invasion. Their prayers are answered in the form of The Rig, a fully loaded tractor-trailer that crashes to Earth.
Amidst the wreckage, only one man survives: a mysterious former priest excommunicated from the Six Petals. He will become Trucker, the driver of this demon-slaying machine, and lead the charge against the forces of Hell.
“This is going to kick ass,” Malone exclaimed in a statement. “It’s amazing working with Vault and Michael Bay. Turning this idea into what we have has been unbelievable. The team has been crushing it, and I can’t believe we get to be a part of Free Comic Book Day.”
Platinum Dunes, known for their involvement in successful horror franchises like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th, A Quiet Place, and the upcoming movie Drop, lend genre expertise to the “Big Rig” movie adaptation.
Fans can soon get a taste of Post Malone‘s “Big Rig.” The first chapter will be available exclusively at participating comic shops on Free Comic Book Day 2025 (May 3rd).
