Horror icon Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Hysteria!) has praised Ted Raimi for his performance in Failure!, written and directed by Alex Kahuam (Forgiveness).

Campbell lauded Raimi’s acting prowess, stating, “Ted Raimi is one of the few actors I would – or could – watch for 87 minutes without a break. Over the years, Ted has spun his character actor threads into leading man gold. You can’t take your eyes off of him!”

Failure! centers on a troubled young man who is a caregiver for both his terminally ill mother and his mentally ill sister. When he makes a desperate attempt to save his mom, he unleashes a supernatural entity that feeds on human flesh.

The film, shot in a single 87-minute take and portrayed in three acts, has garnered attention on the festival circuit. It screened at the inaugural Fantastic Pavilion Gala (the Cannes Film Market genre showcase), Frightfest 2023. It also was shown at the Morbido Film Fest, Fantaspoa, and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. HorrorFuel’s own Joseph Perry called the film “splendidly crafted” and “razor-sharp” in his Piegon Shrine FrightFest review.

Raimi stars alongside Merrick McCartha (Senior Year), Melissa Diaz (Ruthless), and John Paul Medrano (Seven Days): Daniel Kuhlman (Voodoo Macbeth) and Noel Douglas Orput round out the cast.

Director Alex Kahuam’s next project, The Remedy, is currently in post-production and boasts a stellar cast: Timothy Granaderos (13 Reasons Why), London Thor (Gen V), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), Chris Mulkey (Whiplash), and Jenny O’Hara (Devil). We’ll keep you posted.
