Godolkin University Is Officially Closing Its Doors. It looks like the tuition at Godolkin University finally became too much to bear. “Gen V,” the gore-soaked college spinoff of “The Boys,” has been expelled. Amazon Prime Video has opted not to renew the series for a third season, meaning the sophomore slump was also its final bow. The news comes despite a strong start for Season 2 last autumn, but even Compound V couldn’t keep the show’s momentum from flatlining in the ratings.

Graduation… or Just an Early Exit?

In a joint statement (via Variety), executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg tried to soften the blow for fans of the God U crew:

“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”

Translation: The show is dead, but the survivors are being recycled. Expect the “Godolkin Four” (or whoever is left standing) to show up as guest stars in the flagship series’ final season.

By the Numbers: A Short-Lived High

Season 2 kicked off with a bang in September 2025, racking up 424 million minutes viewed in its first week. It even managed to crack the Nielsen Top 10, largely fueled by the 18–49 demographic—the exact group that enjoys watching supes accidentally explode things during midterms.

However, the buzz faded faster than a Translucent cameo. The show only hit the Top 10 one more time before disappearing into the streaming void.

The Future of the “Vought Cinematic Universe” (VCU)

With The Boys ending its legendary run with Season 5 and “Gen V” hitting the scrap heap, the Vought franchise is looking to the past and across the border to stay alive with two new spinoff series on the way.

Vaught Rising,” the prequel everyone is waiting for. Starring Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) and Aya Cash (Stormfront), this 1950s-set origin story is slated for 2027. Keep your eyes peeled for an early teaser during The Boys Season 5.

“The Boys: Mexico”: Still in the development lab. Details are currently thinner than a Vought press release after a public massacre. But hey, more supe weirdness and brutality? We’re in!

While we say goodbye to the dorm rooms and telepathic trauma of “Gen V,” the cast—including Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, and Asa Germann—can rest easy knowing that in this universe, no one ever truly stays gone. There’s always a multiverse or a flashback to exploit. But be sure to keep an eye out. Reportedly, the “Gen V” crew is set to appear in the current season of “The Boys.”

Classes are dismissed. Permanently.
