We are officially thirty days out from the moment the multiverse gets a lot more cynical. To celebrate the one-month countdown, Prime Video has unleashed not one, but two official trailers for the highly anticipated “Spider-Noir”. In a move that honors the 1930s aesthetic, fans can choose to watch the new footage in vibrant, modern color or the “authentic” black-and-white version. This isn’t just a marketing gimmick for the trailer, either. When the show drops, you’ll have the option to stream the entire series in either format to suit your mood for monochromatic misery.

The Case of the Web-Slinging P.I.

Set against the backdrop of a gritty, Depression-era New York, the series stars Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider) in his first leading television role. He plays Ben Reilly, a weathered and down-on-his-luck private investigator who is struggling to keep his head above water. Haunted by a deeply personal tragedy and forced to grapple with a past he’d rather forget, Reilly finds himself acting as the city’s lone, shadow-dwelling superhero. It’s a hard-boiled take on the mythos that swaps out the bright spandex for a trench coat and a revolver.

The Creative Masterminds

The series was developed by co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot. They bring a pedigree that ranges from the comedy of 22 Jump Street to the brutal grit of The Punisher. They aren’t working alone, though. The project was built in collaboration with the Academy Award-winning Into the Spider-Verse brain trust of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Adding even more prestige to the mix, Emmy winner Harry Bradbeer stepped behind the camera to direct the first two episodes, ensuring the series has the same sharp visual language he brought to Fleabag.

A Stacked Deck of Talent

A formidable supporting cast surrounds Nicolas Cage. It includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson. The guest star list is equally impressive. It includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, and more.

All eight episodes of this hard-boiled adventure, “Spider-Noir,” are set to hit Prime Video on May 27, 2026.
