Shudder has officially acquired the rights to the highly anticipated, gritty horror film Hallowarrior ahead of its Tribeca Film Festival debut. This postapocalyptic nightmare follows a lonely survivor named Pumpkin, played by Hereditary star Milly Shapiro. She is the sole human left after a devastating global plague, or at least she thinks she is.
Pumpkin spends her Halloween scavenging the wasteland for meager supplies. However, her quiet holiday ritual is shattered by a gang of savage raiders led by Thalia (portrayed by Shannyn Sossamon). While Pumpkin is vastly outnumbered, she is far from helpless, defending her doorstep with wit, weapons, and a few sugary treats. The film promises a night of ferocious fighting and gory survival. It is a bold, blood-soaked love letter to the Halloween season.
A Stellar Genre Cast
The film, marks the feature debut of director Ben Sottak. It boasts a lineup of horror favorites: Shapiro and Sossamon (Sinister 2) are joined by AJ Bowen (You’re Next) and Ajani Russell (Skate Kitchen). With a cast like that, you know it’s going to be good.
From Short Films to Shudder
Ben Sottak is a New York filmmaker with deep roots in horror. His shorts have wowed crowds at Fantasia and FrightFest. Sottak expressed immense joy about finding a home at Shudder. The platform is truly synonymous with high-quality, atmospheric scares.
A Sweet Halloween

Survival Tip: Always check your candy for razor blades and your wasteland for raiders.
