Paramount+ has officially dropped the trailer for the astronomically anticipated fourth season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” The 10-episode season is set to beam down globally this July, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays.

If the new footage is any indication, Captain Pike’s hair isn’t the only thing defying gravity this season—the stakes are getting downright wild.

The Mission: Boldly Going (And Coping) Across the Cosmos

The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise is back under the steady, charismatic command of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount). This season promises a hefty dose of classic, episodic Trek joy mixed with modern budget visual effects. Expect the crew to face a checklist of cosmic hazards:

This season, the crew will face internal demons & External Threats: Because navigating space is hard, but navigating your own unresolved trauma in deep space is harder. The trailer features a fire-breathing dragon attacking the Enterprise saucer, a T. rex, and sword fights. (You know, a typical Tuesday in Starfleet. There will also be terrifying aliens and familiar faces. The crew will confront hostile species while encountering icons of Trek lore, bringing them closer to The Original Series.

Through all the timeline fracturing and near-death experiences, the crew remains stubbornly committed to Gene Roddenberry’s signature brand of bright, unwavering optimism.

The Manifest: Who’s On Board?

The Enterprise remains packed with one of the finest ensembles in television. The season four roster features: Anson Mount (Captain Pike), Rebecca Romijn (Number One), Ethan Peck (Spock),

Jess Bush (Nurse Chapel), Christina Chong (La’an), and Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura). They are joined by Melissa Navia (Ortegas), Babs Olusanmokun (Dr. M’Benga),  and Martin Quinn (Scotty).

Behind the camera, the show remains in capable hands. Produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment, the series is steered by co-showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers.
